KCNA Ridicules U.S. Trumpeting about "Nuclear-Free World"
Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- It was recently disclosed that the United States has continued its secret nuclear weapons test, stunning the world.

The Kyodo News reported on Jan. 6 that the U.S. conducted a plutonium test based on new technology in order to examine the power of the stockpiled nuclear weapons last summer.

This brought to light the hypocritical and deceptive nature of the U.S. administration's commitment to prohibiting the development of nukes and nuclear tests.

The incumbent chief executive of the U.S. has vociferously called for building "a world without nuclear weapons" since he came to power. For this he was awarded even the Nobel Peace Prize.

But, the U.S. has conducted nuclear tests more often and in a craftier manner during his office, bringing up their destructive power to an unimaginable level.

The U.S. has put spurs to the modernization of nuclear weapons.

When a budget for fiscal 2011 was being shaped, the administration asked the Congress to approve an expenditure of more than 7 billion dollars for nuke-related activities of the Nuclear Security Agency or 624 million more than the previous year.

A U.S. nuclear scientist said in this connection that there has never been such increase in fund for nuke-related activities since the early period of the Reagan administration.

Even U.S. media chided the present government for contemplating increasing funds for nuclear weapon research projects talking about "nuclear non-proliferation" and "denuclearization".

The U.S. keeps deploying nuclear weapons in different regions of the world and escalating the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula.

The reality goes to prove that the U.S. nuclear policy for aggression can never change, no matter who becomes its president.

It is the invariable strategy of the U.S. to dominate the world by monopolizing nuclear weapons and holding hegemony in the field of strategic offensive weapons.

There can be neither non-use of nukes nor their dismantlement for the U.S. which regards nuclear weapons as all-powerful means for executing its policy of aggression.

It has not dropped its nuclear policy even a single day but increased the production of nukes and expanded their proliferation since it inflicted the first nuclear disaster upon humankind.

It has spent a huge amount of funds for the modernization of nukes and transferred nuclear technology to its allies, posing nuclear threats to its rivals and anti-imperialist independent countries.

It still remains the arch criminal which has posed nuclear war threats to the world and sparked an arms race.

The U.S. is the world's biggest possessor of nuclear weapons. It was the first in the world to transfer nuclear weapon technology.

The "denuclearization" touted by the U.S. is, in essence, aimed at preventing all other countries and regions from having access to nuclear weapons. In other words, it is a doctrine for monopolizing nukes.

It is, therefore, preposterous and shameless sophism for the U.S. to call for "building a nuclear-free world" as it considers nuclear strategy as a mainstay of its national policy.

The U.S. would be well advised to stop making a mockery of the international community and give up its nuclear ambition.
