S. Korea: Freedom of Expression Demanded
Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- Personages of different circles in south Korea called a press conference on Jan. 11 in denunciation of the puppet authorities' fascist crackdown.

Speakers at the conference pointed out that the Kyonggi district police agency and the Suwon district prosecutor's office have tried to detain Pak Jong Gun, a member of the Social Party, after persecuting him on charges of violation of the "National Security Law".

The puppet Kyonggi district police agency reportedly searched Pak's house and office in September last year and summoned him several times to investigate.

The fascist security authorities committed such actions for the mere reason that he took part in the sit-in strike of evacuees in Ryongsan, the campaign for "bus of hope", rally to get the university registration fee halved, etc., and praised the DPRK.

The speakers charged that such repression is aimed to trample down on the freedom of thought by dint of NSL.

The NSL serves as the means of suppression to maintain the power, they said, urging the authorities to abrogate the evil law and ensure freedom of expression.
