GNP at Strife over Irregularities in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- Fractions of the "Grand National Party" in south Korea have recently disputed with each other, revealing their dirty colors stained with irregularities of their own accord.

Ex-Chairman Hong Jun Phyo and lawmaker Won Hui Ryong from the GNP on Jan. 10 raised suspicion that the election of candidate within the party was based on money during the "presidential" elections in 2007.

In this regard, public opinion has claimed that the proposed doubt is aimed at Pak Kun Hye, who contested with Lee Myung Bak at that time, as Hong and Won are from the Lee fraction.

Meanwhile, former lawmaker Kim Jae Won, who is from the Pak fraction, told reporters that there was a bribery scandal at the time of the election of proportional-representation candidates for the 18th-term "National Assembly" led by the pro-Lee Myung Bak group.

On Jan. 11, an unidentified person concerned disclosed through media that the enveloped money was distributed during the 2006 GNP Congress which witnessed the fierce rivalry between the two fractions.

Commenting on this situation, media ridiculed that the spectacular campaign to disclose the cases of slush fund within the ruling GNP will lead the conflict between its fractions to the division of the party and then to its end.
