Kim Hyong Gwon, Indomitable Revolutionary Fighter
Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- Kim Hyong Gwon was an indomitable revolutionary fighter who was active in the early period of the Korean revolution.

He, an officer of the Korean Revolutionary Army, devotedly fought to implement President Kim Il Sung's plan to expand the armed struggle into the homeland.

He became famous with the Phabal-ri incident.

In August Juche 19 (1930), he led an armed group to Phabal-ri, Phungsan County, Korea and shot to death a Japanese police sergeant.

His gun report that day reflected his resolution to devotedly implement the line of the President on the armed struggle.

In front of the police post, he called upon all people loving the country to take up arms and fight against the Japanese imperialists.

His group then went deep into the homeland to conduct bold military and political activities.

He proved with his undaunted struggle in prison and heroic death the truth that a revolutionary should not stop fighting to implement the plan and intention of the President even in the worst situation.

Arrested by a renegade's act of perfidy, Kim Hyong Gwon was subjected to medieval tortures, appeasement and delusion. But he remained true to his faith and principle and educated other prisoners in the line and policy of the President.

He passed away in prison on January 12, 1936 at the age of 30, asking other prisoners to let the President know that his group never yielded to the Japanese imperialists.

Kim Hyong Gwon's was a brilliant life of a revolutionary faithful to the President.
