Rodong Sinmun Urges U.S. to Pull Its Forces out of S. Korea at Earliest Possible Date
Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- The building of a peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula entirely depends on the attitude of the United States, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a signed article.

It demands the U.S. pull back its aggressor forces from south Korea.

Pointing to the illegal nature of the U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea, the article notes:

The U.S. should accept the resolution of the 30th UN General Assembly and make a bold decision to pull its troops out of south Korea, though belatedly.

What the U.S. forces have done so far since their occupation of south Korea is nothing but acts of threatening the peace on the peninsula and increasing the danger of war.

The U.S. has reinforced its troops and introduced nuclear weapons in systematic violation of the Armistice Agreement, turning south Korea into the biggest nuclear arsenal in Far East and most dangerous advanced nuclear base.

The U.S. troops have become more undisguised in their moves for aggression and war in the new century.

The U.S. troops in south Korea are a hot bed of war in the Korean Peninsula and the root cause of threatening and disturbing peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.

The withdrawal of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces from south Korea is an irresistible demand of the times.

The south Korean people are calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops, holding aloft slogans for independence against the U.S. and national reunification. Voices demanding the U.S. forces' pullback are also heard in the U.S.

The world progressives are also demanding the U.S. troops' withdrawal from south Korea.

The U.S. forces' pullback from south Korea serves as a barometer judging and verifying whether the U.S. has willingness to ensure peace in the Korean Peninsula or not.

If the U.S. truly has a stand to prevent a war on the peninsula and ensure peace in Northeast Asia, it should boldly withdraw its forces from south Korea.
