The meeting discussed enhancing the capacity and level of external publicity, introducing the Chinese culture and displaying the features of the country so as to greet the 18th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with great achievements.

It also called for carrying on the external publicity work as a main point of the party and state affairs and giving priority to implementing the spirit of the 6th Plenum of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
