S. Koreans Brand Ruling GNP as Corrupt Party
Pyongyang, January 11 (KCNA) -- The floor leader of the opposition Democratic United Party (DUP) of south Korea in a press conference on Sunday criticized the ruling "Grand National Party" as a corrupt party.

Referring to the recent illegalities by Lee Myung Bak's aides, Ddos attacks on the website of the Central Election Committee, a bribery scandal, etc., he ridiculed that the GNP did not abandon its true nature as a scandal-ridden party.

He urged the GNP to apologize to the people for such wrongdoings.

On the same day Ri Sok Hyon, a lawmaker from the DUP, stated there is suspicion that the GNP engaged in fraudulent practices during the Oct. 26 Seoul mayoral election.

It is dubious that Ra Kyong Won, mayoral candidate of the GNP who lost to an independent rival, won a landslide at all electorates in the absent voting, he added.

This was a result of the ruling party's organized and multi-faceted intervention, he held, underscoring the need to clear this suspicion.
