Iran Says Non-regional Powers Have No Place in Persian Gulf

| Tehran, January 4 (KCNA) -- Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the message of the ongoing naval maneuver in Iran's southern waters is that non-regional powers have no place in the Persian Gulf region, the English language satellite Press TV reported Sunday. The presence of foreign navies in the region causes regional insecurity and the establishment of sustainable security in the region in cooperation with neighboring countries is one of the goals of the naval maneuver, the Iranian commander was quoted as saying. He said that now the navy trains self-defense capability through military exercises in international waters. |
