Kim Jong Il was Outstanding Political Elder
Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was an outstanding political elder and peerlessly great master of politics who skillfully steered the complicated and turbulent trend of world politics in the direction of independence, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a by-lined article.

The DPRK is now standing at the centre of the era to determine the trend of world politics. The dignity and honor of the Korean nation are being displayed on the highest level.

This is ascribable to wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.

He wisely led the DPRK so that it might advance, holding higher the banner of independence against imperialism, standing at the center of the world political arena.

He clarified the scientific accuracy and truth of socialism through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities and proved that socialism is sure to triumph.

Through his ceaseless inspection of units of the Korean People's Army the world clearly realized with what and how independence should be protected. His Songun politics powerfully encouraged the world people in their victorious advance of the human cause of independence.

The world progressive political parties and peoples turned out in the movement for reviving socialism, following the DPRK led by Kim Jong Il.

The Songun politics pursued by him imbued many countries of the world aspiring after independence with faith and courage that imperialism is by no means powerful and even a small country is sure to win if it pursues Songun politics and fights against imperialism on its own initiative.

He foiled the war moves of the U.S. by dint of the Songun politics, thereby defending not only the peace on the Korean Peninsula but also the peace and security of the world.

The life of Kim Jong Il was dedicated to the human cause of independence, the article notes, stressing that the exploits performed by him in the world history of politics and the human cause of independence would shine forever.
