New Year Addresses from Heads of State of Asian Countries
Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- Heads of state and government of Asian countries made New Year addresses on the New Year's Day.

Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino, president of Philippines, said that the country is pulling it from poverty. He called upon all the people to unite and bring about more changes in the New Year.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declared that the government will pay primary efforts to improving the people's livelihood in the New Year.

He underscored the need to settle the issues of education, health, food and job to provide the residents with stable living conditions and continue to intensify combating irregularities and corruption to establish an equal and just social and political order.

Lee Hsien Loong, prime minister of Singapore, said that it is the primary task of the government to settle the housing issue for residents.

He stressed the need to pay state attention to modernizing the communication and transportation means and improving the educational system. He also called for developing technologies to keep the country's economy afloat.

Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said that the government will make improving the people's livelihood and developing economy top priority of its job and work hard for national reconciliation and peace.

Thailand underwent economic difficulties due to price rise and flood last year but the government will make sure that the aftermath be removed and the people lead a happy life this year, she said.
