News of National Funeral Reported by Foreign Media
Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- News of a ceremony of bidding last farewell to leader Kim Jong Il and a solemn national memorial service for him was reported by many foreign media from Dec. 28 to 30.

TV radios of China, Russia, France, India, Cuba, Germany, Italy, Iran, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Egypt, Venezuela, the U.S. and other countries telecasted scenes of millions of Korean people from all walks of life and servicepersons shedding tears in snow-laden streets of Pyongyang. All the Koreans were bidding last farewell to Kim Jong Il in bitterest pain and sorrow at the loss of the great leader, media said.

Central TV of Iran, with a focus on the dear respected Kim Jong Un walking alongside a limousine carrying the hearse for Kim Jong Il despite snowfall, stressed that Kim Jong Un trudged along the hearse with no cap and a pair of gloves.

The Cuban papers Granma and Juventud Rebelde, the Peruvian paper El Peruano, the Cambodian paper Phnom Penh Post, the Pakistani papers Express Tribune and The News, the Kuwaiti paper Al Watan, the Egyptian paper Al-Ahram, the Syrian paper Al Thawrah and the Mongolian paper Odriin Sonin reported the same news with the portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il and a photo of Kim Jong Un appearing at the plaza of the Kumsusan Memorial Palace along the hearse for Kim Jong Il for the funeral ceremony.

AFP said that Kim Jong Un was called supreme leader of the party, state and army at the national memorial service and this meant that the Songun idea and the Songun politics of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il would be inherited by Kim Jong Un.
