Research Institute Conducive to Children's Health Improvement
Pyongyang, January 3 (KCNA) -- The Research Institute for Nutrition Care of Children affiliated with the Academy of Medical Science in Pyongyang works on scientific researches in nutrition, health and hygiene care of the children.

In recent years the research institute has successfully made researches in infant powdered milk, nutritive powdered milk and micronutrient, while producing medicines good for the growth of children.

It, with modern equipment, manufactures a variety of nutrients and nutritive drinks necessary for children's growth.

Min Kyong Hyon, vice-director of the research institute, told KCNA that infant powdered milk made from beans is popular among local and foreign people.

The research institute boasts of a lot of scientists and technicians honored with academic degrees and titles.

The institute has different laboratories, pilot factory and children's ward equipped with modern diagnosis and treatment apparatuses.

It also examines the hygienic condition and quality of foodstuffs.

It has cooperated with the United Nations Children's Fund, World Health Organization and other international agencies and organizations.
