Kwak Pom Gi, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK, made a report to be followed by speeches at the rally.

The reporter and speakers said that all servicepersons and people held a mass rally at the emotional period when they turned out in the general advance in the first year when the history of new hundred year of Kim Il Sung's Korea begins with the boundless glory and pride of holding in high esteem the dear respected Kim Jong Un, the great successor to the revolutionary cause of Juche, as the supreme commander of the Korean People's Army,.

They said that the above-said decision, joint calls and the tasks set out in the joint New Year editorial on the New Year 2012 serve as a militant banner to be held aloft by the whole Party, army and all people.

They proposed sending a letter earnestly calling upon the working people across the country who bid farewell to the year of greatest grief and greeted 2012, reflecting the will of all the participants in the rally, to keep the firm pledge made before the bier of Kim Jong Il.

A letter to all the working people across the country was read out at the rally.

It said that the above-said decision and joint calls and the tasks set forth in the joint New Year editorial on the New Year 2012, historic year, represent the pledge made by all the people before the bier of Kim Jong Il in bitter tears.

Noting that working people of South Hamgyong Province made a firm promise before all the people of the country to devotedly fulfill the solemn pledge made before the bier of Kim Jong Il, the letter went on:

All the working people, let us turn out as one as befitting descendants of Kim Il Sung and soldiers and disciples of Kim Jong Il to open up without fail the great door of prosperity true to the plan of Kim Jong Il in his lifetime in 2012, the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung!

Now is the time to clearly show the world that the conviction of Korea that when Kim Jong Il is determined, the people will do without fail is unshakable no matter how conditions and circumstances may change.

The great door to prosperity is sure to be opened when all the fields and units of the country bear in mind the behests of Kim Jong Il one by one and thoroughly implement them with the indomitable mental power and traits of persevering struggle.

The pace-setters who have dashed ahead in the van of the march for a great surge should display a hundred-fold strength. If there be people lagging behind should get awakened and throw themselves into the general offensive for 2012 with courage, though belatedly.
