Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Events took place in various countries between Dec. 15 and 17 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

They included a seminar on feats in Brazil and seminar, meeting, lecture, film shows and book and photo exhibition in India.

On display in their venues were books and photos introducing the Songun revolutionary leadership feats of Kim Jong Il and the greatness of Kim Jong Suk, woman commander of Mt. Paektu.

The Korean films shown included "The Country Shining with Arms of Mt. Paektu".

The chairman of the Brazilian Center for the Study of the Juche Idea said at a seminar that Kim Jong Il clarified the original principle of Songun, gave priority to strengthening the KPA and put the defence capability of the country on the highest level.

He further said:

Through his field inspections of military units, Kim Jong Il brought up the KPA to be an army strong in idea and faith whose members are ready to dedicate their lives without hesitation for the party, leader, country and people and an invincible army possessed of the Juche-oriented war methods and equipped with powerful offensive and defensive means.

He also paid deep attention to bolstering the militia, thus turning the whole country into an impregnable fortress.

The chief for project of a software company in India said in a lecture that Kim Jong Suk was an outstanding woman revolutionary as she devoted her whole life to the social emancipation of the women and the development of the women's movement.
