Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il made a ceaseless journey for the inspection of frontline to the last period of his life after visiting a military post under shrubs of pine trees on January 1, Juche 84 (1995.)

For the past 17 years of his Songun revolutionary history the military might of socialist Korea has been augmented and a reliable foundation laid for building a powerful and prosperous country.

He gave field inspection to forward commanding posts in the eastern, western and central forefront areas and a post on an island in the sea and all branches of arms and services.

Chol Pass, Mt. Osong, Height 1211, Height 351, Mt. Taedok, Cho Island, Panmunjom and all other places visited by Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il bear his footprints dedicated to turning the People's Army into an invincible army strong politically and ideologically and in military technique.

Under his wise leadership the KPA has grown up to be an invincible revolutionary army equipped with unpredictable striking and defensive capabilities and ranks of a match-for-a hundred stalwart fighters possessed of Korean-style strategies and tactics.

During the days of his Songun leadership Kim Jong Il put forward soldier culture as a model of cultural life under socialism.

Feats performed by Kim Jong Il in developing the KPA into an invincible army with his indomitable faith and will and tested art of command will remain shining in the Songun history of the WPK.
