Cubans Visit DPRK Embassies

Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- Personages of different circles in Cuba visited the DPRK embassy in Havana on Dec. 21 and 22 to mourn the demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Among them were Alvaro Lopez Miera, first vice-minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and chief of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, and its vice-ministers; Marcos Rodriguez, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs; Oscar Martinez, deputy head of the International Department of the C.C., Communist Party; Orlando Hernandez, first vice-minister of Trade and Foreign Investment; the president of the Prensa Latina News Agency; Juan Vela Valdes, chairman of the Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification; Juan Jose Leon Vega, chairman of the Cuban preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung; President Kenia Serrano Puig and Vice-President Alicia Corredera of the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples; Alfonso Fraga Perez, secretary general of the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia, and Latin America; and officials of the Committee for Defense of the Revolution, the Union of Young Communists, th

e military, friendship organizations and press organs.

They laid wreaths, bouquets and flowers before the portrait of Kim Jong Il and paid a silent tribute to him.

Meanwhile Cuban ambassadors to Russia, Germany, Italy, India, Malaysia, Guinea, Uganda and Peru paid condolatory visits to the DPRK embassies in those countries between Dec. 19 and 22.
