S. Korean Authorities Urged to Allow Mourning Visit

Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty of south Korea Tuesday issued a statement urging the authorities to allow condolence visit to Pyongyang on the demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Now the whole world is expressing deep condolences on the passing of Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, the statement said, adding:

In south Korea, too, organizations of different circles are applying for visit to the north to mourn his demise one after another and the mourning atmosphere is running high.

This is the elementary etiquette to be kept as fellow countrymen, but the authorities only are hindering condolence visit. It is an improper deed in view of ethics and morality or the present state of the south-north relations.

The statement demanded that the authorities promptly allow any condolence visit by civilians and come out to pay condolatory visit to the north after expressing condolences on behalf of the "government".
