Indonesians Visit DPRK Embassy

Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- Personages and political parties, organizations and institutions of Indonesia mourned the demise of leader Kim Jong Il on Dec. 20 and 21.

Upon authorization of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Foreign Minister Raden Mohammad Marty Muliana Natalegawa paid a condolatory visit to the DPRK embassy in Djakarta.

The foreign minister paid a moment's silence before the portrait of Kim Jong Il and made an entry in the condolence book.

Also visiting the embassy to express condolences were the deputy secretary general of the Central Directive Council of the Democratic Party of Struggle, the chairman of the Advisory Council of the National Democratic Party, the director general for Protocol and Consular Relations of the Foreign Ministry, the vice-chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the chief of the editorial department of the Surara Karya and the manager of the Rabitra Bahtera Pratama Co. and others.

Wreaths were sent to the DPRK embassy by the speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly, the general chairman of the Central Directive Council of the Democratic Party of Struggle, the chairman of the Committee for Founding the Soekarno Foundation for Education, the Pioneer Party of Indonesia, the Indonesia-Korea Association for Friendship and Cultural Exchange, the New Indonesian Artistic Foundation and other personages, parties, organizations and institutions.

Meanwhile ambassadors and charges d'affaires a.i. of Russia, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Syria, India, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Zimbabwe, Brunei, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Australia, Brazil and Venezuela to this country and the Lao ambassador and the Thai permanent representative to ASEAN paid condolatory visits to the DPRK embassy.
