Foreign Media Reports Mourning Demise of Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Media of different countries between Dec. 19 and 21 gave wide publicity to news that the Korean people are mourning the demise of leader Kim Jong Il in bitterest grief.

Xinhua News Agency and People's Daily of China said the Korean people visited Kim Il Sung Square, the plazas of the April 25 House of Culture and the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and other places where portraits of Kim Jong Il are displayed and mourned his demise.

CCTV aired programs dealing with memorial services in the DPRK and events in different countries to express condolences over his demise.

Huanqiu Shibao said media of the DPRK are introducing the heroic life of Kim Jong Il.

ITAR-TASS of Russia gave a detailed account of the fact that the Korean people continue to express condolences over the untimely demise of Kim Jong Il and media of the DPRK are devoting space and airing programs to deal with the undying feats performed by him.

Ria-Novosti of Russia released a report titled "Korean people mourn the demise of leader Kim Jong Il in tears."

The Associated Press of the U.S. said the army and people of the DPRK are praising Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, as a distinguished great man and great successor to the revolutionary cause of Juche, adding that they vow to loyally uphold his leadership.

Kyodo News of Japan also conveyed news of the Korean people's mourning over their leader's demise.
