Changed Appearances in Pyongyang at Night

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- Now the streets in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, are in indescribable grief with the citizens' deep reverence for leader Kim Jong Il and regret over his demise.

The appearances in the city at night have changed with the people visiting the portraits of smiling Kim Jong Il to mourn his demise.

Wherever you go, you can hear servicepersons and people ardently calling the father of the nation.

The portrait of the leader with smile in his face put up at the plaza of the April 25 House of Culture, too, is crowded with wailing visitors day and night.

In the past this plaza used to be a joyful dancing place of servicepersons and gaily-dressed youth and students celebrating auspicious holidays. But, now it has turned into a place where they are lamenting over the demise of Kim Jong Il while calling him with bitter sorrow.

Citizens--adults and children, men and women--are seen going silently to somewhere at night. There is no need to ask where he or she goes and there is no one asking about it.

At night all their hearts are pulsating with one thought and will as well as bitter grief at the loss of the father of the nation.

It is to make before the portraits of smiling Kim Jong Il a firm oath to hold him in high esteem forever and remain true to his behests with pure sense of moral obligation.
