Foreign Papers Give Special Write-ups to Significant Days of DPRK

Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Newspapers of Iran, India and Myanmar edited special write-ups between Dec. 11 and 13 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

They carried photos of Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Suk, woman commander of Mt. Paektu, and pictures showing her old home in Hoeryong and KPA columns in parade.

Iran News said that Kim Jong Il has put the national defence capabilities on the highest level, reliably defended Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses and brought a new turn in socialist construction over the past 20 years since his assumption of KPA supreme commandership.

New Delhi Times of India in articles referred to Kim Jong Il's immortal Songun leadership feats, saying that all the eye-opening events taking place in the DPRK are a brilliant fruition of his plan and energetic guidance.

The noble feats of Kim Jong Suk, praised as an anti-Japanese war hero, will remain long with socialist Korea, the paper stressed.

The Myanmar paper The Voice noted that Kim Jong Il clarified the original Songun principle and paid primary efforts to strengthening the KPA, the main force of the defence capabilities of the country.
