Lots of Unreported Nuclear Substances Found in Japan

Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- It has been disclosed in Japan that lots of nuclear substances were unreported to the International Atomic Energy Agency, touching off great furor.

2.8 kg of highly-enriched uranium and four tons of lowly-enriched uranium were found unmeasured each at an institute under the government control and a nuclear fuel manufacturing enterprise, according to Tokyo Shimbun on Dec. 15 which quoted a government survey data on at least 260 nuclear facilities across the country, the objects of IAEA inspection.

It has been also known that a large amount of nuclear substances were not measured at Jyubu, Hokuriku and Jyugoku electric power companies. So the work to confirm the facts is reportedly under way.

In this regard the government started negotiations in secrecy while making haste with report on them to the IAEA in a bid to avoid the accusations of the international community, the paper said.
