Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- Harsh drought hit Mexico recently.

Owing to the drought, worst in 70 years, many crops withered away and 1.7 million domestic animals died.

Five states in northern part of the country suffered great damage.

The government is taking emergency measures including supply of water and food to the afflicted areas.
