S. Korean Puppet Authorities' Suppression of Koreans in Japan Censured

Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- The executive committee made up of the Federation of Koreans in Japan for Democracy and Reunification (Hanthongryon) and the National Network of South Korea-Japan People's Solidarity held a joint meeting in Tokyo on December 2 to accuse the puppet authorities of their human rights abuses against Koreans in Japan.

Son Hyong Gun, president of Hanthongryon, addressing the meeting, referred to the tougher crackdown of Koreans by the south Korean consulate in Japan such as rejection of passport issuance for the democratic Koreans and their organizations in Japan.

They will intensify the legitimate actions against the clampdown, he said, calling on all the compatriots to join them.

A letter of protest was read out.

It revealed that the south Korean authorities brand Hanthongryon as an "anti-state organization" to force its members to secede from it with the issuance of passport as a bait.

The south Korean authorities' oppression is their desperate last-ditch efforts to realize the ambition for remaining in power, it said, adding:

Unpardonable are the present south Korean authorities which are nothing different from the successive military dictatorial regimes in their suppression of people.

The protest letter urged the south Korean authorities to immediately stop the oppression of the Koreans' organizations in Japan.
