Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- A Nicaraguan congressman Thursday accused the United States of interfering in Nicaragua's domestic affairs after U.S. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said there had been fraud at the Nov. 6 general elections.

Agustin Jarquin, president of the Nicaraguan Christian Democratic Union party and an ally of the country's ruling party, said the remarks of Ros-Lehtinen were a clear "interference" in Nicaragua's political affairs.

"The Nicaraguan people decide on that issue," Jarquin said. "The Nicaraguan people clearly elected their president and their congress members beyond the deficiencies of the electoral process."
