U.S., S. Korea, Japan Should Accept Requirement for Unconditional Resumption of Six-Party Talks

Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- The stalled six-party talks are blamed on the U.S. which raised preconditions for them.

Hirogazu Kitagawa, representative member of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, said this speaking at the 29th national meeting of the movement for supporting Korea's reunification on Nov. 26.

The demand for the DPRK's "scrap of nuclear program first" is in breach of the September 19 joint statement based on the principle of simultaneous actions, he noted.

The U.S., south Korea and Japan should retract preconditions and accept the requirement for unconditional resumption of the six-party talks, the shortcut to the denuclearization and peace on the Korean Peninsula, he stressed.

The U.S. forces in Japan and south Korea are the chieftains stoking military tension in East Asia, he said, demanding the U.S. forces vacate their military bases in south Korea and Japan to ensure the peace in the region.

Inevitable to this end is to conclude the DPRK-U.S. peace agreement which will end the war state, and immediately start the talks for signing the agreement, he noted.
