Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- Preparatory committees for celebrating February 16, the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il, in 2012 were inaugurated in Ukraine and Egypt.

An inaugural ceremony held in Ukraine on November 29 elected Pro. and Dr. of Kiev University Gennadi Berdishev chairman of the preparatory committee.

Earlier to it, the Egyptian preparatory committee that was formed on November 26 elected Egyptian Vice-Minister of Agriculture Muhammad al Husseini al Akad chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committees decided to organize colorful political and cultural events including rally, seminar, photo exhibition and film show to mark the February holiday.
