Two Million British Workers Walk off Job

Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- More than 1,000 demonstrations have been organized across the UK. Two million public sector workers in Britain have gone on strike over changes to their pensions in the biggest walkout for decades, which is expected to cause widespread disruption.

They took to the streets denouncing the authorities for the austerity measures which worsen the living conditions of the workers under the pretext of easing economic crisis.

Three-quarters of schools were closed, hospitals were only ensuring emergency care, local authorities were paralysed and airports and ports were expected to be badly affected.

Striking workers picketed public sector buildings in central London.

Trade unionists joined the largest strike seen in Britain for at least 30 years on Wednesday.
