Economy of West in Tight Corner

Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The summit meeting of the Group of Twenty recently took place in the French resort city of Cannes.

It was held at the time when different opinions were raised on the existence of Eurozone due to the worst crisis in the European financial field and serious debt crisis in Greece, Italy and some other countries in particular.

Its main agenda items were such matters to remove factors of dislocating world financial market, reform the international monetary system, prevent unemployment, inflation, skyrocketing of prices of food and goods and eliminate world poverty.

However, Western countries at the meeting attempted to get a huge amount of emergency relief fund from China and Brazil, shifting the blame for financial crisis and instability of world economy on the exchange rate system of China.

But, the BRICS and other developing countries stated that European countries should tide over their debt crisis by themselves, not with help of fund from China or Brazil.

They also stressed the need to strengthen South-South cooperation and take a concerted action to establish a new fair international economic order in order to cope with the debt crisis in Western countries confusing the financial market.

After all, the meeting came to an end without finding any way for establishment of fair international economic order, a key to settling the crisis, because Western countries chiefly responsible for it were busy evading their duty over the issue of sharing of emergency relief fund.
