Tehran, November 28 (KCNA) -- Iran's navy plans to stage a large-scale military exercise in international waters in the near future.

The military exercise, to be codenamed "Belayat 90", will cover a wide scope ranging from the Oman Sea to the northern part of the Indian Ocean.

The navy commander Saturday announced that the exercise involving latest-type military equipment is aimed to demonstrate the navy's capabilities of safeguarding the country's security.
