S. Koreans' Protest against FTA Unabated

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- More than 5,000 south Koreans held a meeting in Seoul on Nov. 24 to declare null and void the "motion calling for ratification of south Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement" that was railroaded through the "National Assembly". They included the members of the Headquarters of the All-People Movement for Checking the Conclusion of the south Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement and other civic and social organizations and lawmakers from opposition parties.

Speakers said that the "Grand National Party" kept not only lawmakers from opposition parties but also journalists away from the entrance before ramming through the motion.

They said they resolutely reject the FTA which sacrifices the people to serve the interests of a handful of big businesses.

They declared the motion totally null and void.

They vowed to rise up against the present "government" and GNP obsessed with the humiliating FTA.
