Railroaded FTA Strongly Protested in S. Korea

Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- The "Grand National Party" of south Korea on Tuesday railroaded the "motion calling for ratification of the Free Trade Agreement" through a full session of the puppet National Assembly, according to south Korean media.

The group of traitors had repeatedly tried to railroad the motion through NA but in vain in face of the people's mass protest.

Under this situation the GNP deceived the public opinion by asserting that it would bring up the motion for discussion at the NA on Thursday. Then it suddenly called a meeting on Monday to decide on single-handedly dealing with the motion next day.

On Tuesday the GNP clan instigated the NA secretariat to open the door to the session hall and crawled into it like a cat burglar.

The NA speaker and deputy speaker belonging to the GNP sent the guards to cordon off the venue of the session and used their authority to lay the motion at the session and put it to a vote illegally.

Later, lawmakers of the opposition parties appeared at the session, strongly protesting the GNP's illegality.

Tear-gas bomb was fired to turn the session hall into the shambles.

Despite the vehement protest of the opposition parties, the GNP finally railroaded the motion through NA.

The opposition parties and people of different social standings are enraged at this reckless deed of the GNP.

Dismissing it as an act of disregarding the people, lawmakers from opposition parties, including the Democratic Party and the Democratic Labor Party, canceled all their schedules at the NA and staged a sit-in strike at the session hall in demand of the resignation of the NA speaker and deputy speaker.

Members of civic and public organizations and other people held a rally outside the NA building to denounce the GNP's treachery.

Then they marched toward the area of Myongdong in Seoul to expand their demo.

The puppet police cracked down on them by firing water cannons but failed to depress the fighting spirit of the angry demonstrators.

The Headquarters of the All-People Movement for Checking the Conclusion of the south Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, too, branded the railroaded motion as a traitorous agreement.

The organization declared that it would conduct a vigorous all-people movement for getting the agreement abrogated and get the GNP lawmakers involved in the humiliating deed defeated in the next year's parliamentary election.
