Rapid Economic Development Urged in China

Beijing, November 21 (KCNA) -- Li Keqiang, vice-premier of the Chinese State Council, called for making a stable and relatively rapid progress in the economy.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2011 meeting of the Chinese Committee for International Cooperation for Environment and Development held in Beijing recently, Li said China has already made a great achievement in the socio-economic development.

In the development process, however, unbalanced, inharmonious and unsustainable problems still exist notably, he said.

It is important to improve the mode of economic development in order to achieve a long-term, stable and relatively rapid development of the economy, the vice-premier added.
