U.S. Police Harshly Suppress Protestors

Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- The United States allegedly advocating human rights is indiscriminately suppressing the people protesting against exploitation and oppression by capital.

Anti-capitalism demos were simultaneously launched across the U.S. Thursday two months after the start of the anti-Wall Street demo.

About 1 000 people of different social standings took to the streets and marched to the New York Stock Exchange chanting such slogans as "Let's Shut down Wall Street!"

Similar protests took place in different parts of New York on the same day.

The mayor of New York said a total of 10 000 people were estimated to have taken part in the demos in the city.

Demonstrators had cuts on their bodies and shed blood. Some of them were taken away in handcuffs by police who went about under helmets.

More than 170 were reportedly taken away by the police.

In Washington lots of people joined the demo jointly organized by the "Occupy Washington" movement and the local trade union organization.

In Chicago demonstrators marched through financial hub streets, strongly demanding the authorities recover the country's economy and provide democracy.

The organizer of the "Rise up Chicago!" movement through its website declared that they will launch solidarity action in protest against the police which stormed the tents of demonstrators in New York on Wednesday.

Similar demos took place in Los Angeles, Portland, Houston, Las Vegas and other major cities the same day.

There were fierce clashes between protestors and the police.

The U.S. rulers' crude violation of the people's political right to demonstration and assembly show that "advocacy of human rights" touted by them is a deceptive slogan to effect the interference in the internal affairs of other countries and put the people under domination.
