Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- Catalan doctors began on Tuesday a two-day strike to protest against successive cuts in public health benefits by the government of the autonomous community under the pretext of reducing the deficit.

A total of 16 500 doctors are called to participate in the strike.

Hospitals were closed due to the strike.
