Ryonggok School

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- Ryonggok School, located at the foot of Mt. Ryongak in Pyongyang, was a private educational institution during the Ri Dynasty (1392-1910). It was built in 1656 and rebuilt in 1713.

The school includes two quarters -- auditoriums and shrine.

Its buildings were built in a row on sloping land.

The auditorium quarter includes east classroom and west classroom.

Behind the shrine is a pavilion with a calligraphic board of the school hung under the shrine's eave.

A monument indicative of the school's history stands inside the pavilion.

The school, which is still preserved in its origin, is one of the precious historical relics showing the Korean nation's advanced architecture.
