Front-runners in Building Thriving Nation

Pyongyang, November 12 (KCNA) -- Many people of the DPRK have become front-runners in the effort to build a thriving nation.

Among them are Mun Kang Sun, a weaver of the Pyongyang Textile Mill, Jong Yon Ok, chairwoman of the Management Board of the Township Co-op Farm in Yonan County, South Hwanghae Province, Choe Ho Song, an engineer of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and U Won Yong, a collier of the Inpho Coal Mine under the Pukchang Area Coal Mining Complex.

After joining the mill, Mun Kang Sun has woven some 555,000 meters of cloth by operating many weaving machines at full capacity.

Over the past decade, she has overfulfilled the yearly plan at an average of 200 percent.

Jong Yon Ok, who has worked as chairwoman of the management board for 23 years, set an example in double cropping, true to the behests of President Kim Il Sung.

Rice farming is preceded by potato farming in Yonbaek Plain. The successful double cropping method of her farm has been applied to co-op farms across the country.

Choe Ho Song has contributed to basing the country's metal industry on locally available raw materials and fuel over the past three decades. He has solved many scientific and technical problems arising in boosting the rolled steel production with less manpower and fuel.

U Won Yong, with a 20-odd-year-long career as miner, has guided his workteam to top its targets every year.

Leader Kim Jong Il highly appreciated them for their distinguished services and encouraged all other people to follow their example.
