Isonnam Waterfall in Mt. Myohyang

Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Isonnam Waterfall in Mt. Myohyang, one of the famous mountains in Korea, is a spectacular sight as the 22-meter-high cataract falls in two torrents with two Korean poplars standing on its top like gateposts.

Spray of the waterfall begets rainbow in the rainy season, adding to the beauty of the cataract.

A pavilion nestles on a mammoth rock at the bottom of the waterfall where one can enjoy a bird's-eye view of ravines.

Leader Kim Jong Il, when visiting Mt. Myohyang in May Juche 70 (1981), renamed the cataract, which had been called Hyongje Waterfall, Isonnam Waterfall.
