Lively Response Evoked by Opera "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" among Chinese Audience

Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Media of China gave wide publicity to the performances of Korean version opera "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" given by Korean artistes in Northeast China from Oct. 27 to Nov. 5.

Huan Qiu Shibao carried an article titled "'Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai', opera created by Phibada Opera Troupe, mesmerized Chinese audience".

The opera is simple in its story and successfully represented the contents of the original, the paper said, adding: A good combination of songs and dances helped preserve and develop not only emotion of the story but the characteristics of the Korean art.

The paper quoted words of Chinese who watched the opera as saying that they knew well the artistes of the most prestigious opera troupe of the DPRK are high in their qualifications and they exerted much effort to successfully represent the classic legend of China.

Daqing Daily said the opera is crystal of the artistic wisdom of China and the DPRK. Korean Newspaper in Liaoning Province, Daqing Evening Newspaper, Daqing Television and internet homepage of Daqing Evening Newspaper stressed that the performance of the opera was highly acclaimed by audience.

Liao Yang Daily noted the Phibada Opera Troupe is well known to the Chinese audiences, adding its performances helped them know about the highest level and distinct characteristics of the Korean art.

Shenyang Daily, Liao Shen Evening Newspaper, Heilongjiang Newspaper and such internet homepages as Xinhua network, people's network and Northeast China news network gave wide publicity to the facts that the performances given by the opera troupe in various cities of China evoked lively response among audiences.
