Beijing, November 9 (KCNA) -- Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, met and had a talk with commanding officials and leading actors and actresses of the Korean troupe at Shiji Theater in Beijing on Wednesday. The troupe led by Kwon Hyok Bong, vice department director of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, is touring China staging opera "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai".

Li Changchun referred to the significance of the troupe's performance tour of China.

He said cultural exchange holds an important position in the development of Sino-Korean friendly relations and plays a big role in deepening the friendly feelings between the two peoples.

He was pleased that the DPRK artistes successfully created the opera "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" in a short period, he said.

The opera is evoking big repercussion among the Chinese people, he added.

He expressed belief that the opera would record one good page in the history of cultural exchange between China and the DPRK.
