Moscow, November 9 (KCNA) -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday called for developing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to be a world politico-economic organization.

Speaking at a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government, he said that with the global economy in a difficult condition, it is important to raise the organization's function to a higher level.

It is inevitable to turn SCO into the world's major politico-economic organization.
