Beijing, November 9 (KCNA) -- Elections of deputies to local people's congresses took place in districts, counties, towns and villages of Beijing on Tuesday.

President Hu Jintao and other party and state leaders participated in district elections.

Hu called on the elected deputies to fully discharge their mission, deeply aware of the voters' demand and in close touch with them.
