DPRK Delegate on Development of Renewable Energy

Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The 10th World Congress on Wind Energy took place in Cairo from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

The general chairman of the World Wind Energy Association made a keynote report at the opening ceremony of the congress. Then followed speeches of delegates of different countries.

The congress was held in the way of panel discussions. Speeches were made there.

Speaking at the discussion on agenda item "Policy of wind energy and its economic efficiency and market" the delegate of the DPRK noted that its government has long carried on the brisk work to use wind power resources and is still making the specified survey of them.

The Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government have taken steps to develop renewable energies including wind power while protecting the country's environment and meeting the growing need for energy of the national economy, he said.

The congress will mark an important occasion in swapping technologies and experience and boosting multifaceted cooperation in the field of renewable energy among countries to actively develop clean energies including wind power, he said.
