U.S. Is Getting Isolated Worldwide

Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- The U.S. styling itself "superpower" has been isolated and rejected in the international arena due to its unilateral embargo on Cuba.

A discussion on the resolution titled "need to put an end to the U.S. economic, trade and financial sanctions against Cuba" was made at the 66th U.N. General Assembly session on Oct. 25.

Delegates of dozens of countries including the DPRK in their speeches disclosed injustice of the sanctions and urged the U.S. to promptly and unconditionally lift this unilateral and coercive embargo.

The representatives of the Non-Aligned Movement, the Group of 77, the Caribbean Community, the MERCOSUR and other international and regional bodies of developing countries reassured their support and solidarity with Cuba, declaring that they would continue developing the friendly and cooperative relations with it.

The disgraced U.S. delegate stubbornly stood against the resolution, asserting that the issue of sanctions is a matter of bilateral character between Cuba and the U.S.

As a result of the vote at the session, this resolution, the 20th of its kind, was adopted with the approval of overwhelming majority of the U.N. members.

The resolution noted that if the U.S. does not lift its embargo on Cuba, this matter will be referred to the next UNGA session.

Foreign news reports said its adoption, an unprecedented event, shows that the U.S. is getting more isolated internationally.

This clearly proves that gone are the days when the U.S. lorded it over the world, styling itself "super power".

The U.S. should awake from the anachronistic illusion and immediately stop its blockade against Cuba unanimously rejected by the world.
