RFA Chairwoman Accuses U.S. of Its Moves to Deploy Missile Defense System

Moscow, November 6 (KCNA) -- Valentina Matvienko, chairwoman of the Russian Federal Assembly (RFA), accused the U.S. of recent moves to deploy its missile defense system in Europe.

Disclosing that the U.S. concluded agreements with Turkey, Romania and Spain, bringing them into its MD, she charged that the U.S. unilateral expansion of the MD is an action threatening strategic stability.

She underscored the RFA's stand demanding the evident legal guarantee that the U.S. missile defense system in Europe would not aim at her country's nuclear deterrent.
