Kim Hyong Gwon, Indomitable Revolutionary

Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- November 4 marks the 106th birth anniversary of Kim Hyong Gwon, who was an indomitable revolutionary fighter and uncle of President Kim Il Sung.

He remained loyal to the President until the end of his life, respecting him as the leader of the Korean revolution.

As a hardcore member of the Baishan Youth League, the Young Communist League of Korea and the Society for Rallying Comrades, the first party organization, which were organized by the President, Kim Hyong Gwon faithfully upheld his revolutionary cause.

His unyielding revolutionary faith and strong mental power were highly displayed in implementing the policy of armed struggle advanced by the President.

He conducted bold military activities in local areas to expand the armed struggle deep into the homeland.

In August Juche 19 (1930), he led an armed group of the Korean Revolutionary Army to pass through Samsu and Phungso areas in the northern part of Korea, attack a police station at noon in Phabal-ri, Phungsan County and punish the Japanese head of the station for his harsh repression of local people.

Arrested by the Japanese police, he did not abandon the faith and principle of a revolutionary.

The unyielding spirit he displayed in prison serves as an example to be followed by the Korean servicepersons and civilians.
