Beijing, November 1 (KCNA) -- China's unmanned spacecraft Shenzhou-8 blasted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest desert area on Tuesday.

It successfully separated from its carrier rocket, a modified Long March-2F, and entered a low Earth orbit.

The spacecraft is expected to dock with Tiangong-1 space lab module that was sent into space on Sept. 29.
