S. Korean Newspaper Blasts Authorities for Ignoring Public Voice

Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- Hangyore, a newspaper of south Korea, on October 31 carried an article titled "The president never pretends to give an ear to the public voice".

The "government" and the ruling party still disregard the people's voice, far from drawing a bitter lesson from the October 26 Seoul mayoral election and reflecting on their misconducts, the article said, adding:

In the recent election many Seoul citizens punished the wrong unpopular policy of the present "government" and the former mayor.

The chief executive, however, named O Chong Su as chief of security guard in Chongwadae just after the election. O was dismissed from the chief of the Police Agency for the crackdown on candlelight rally in 2008.

On the election results, the representative of the "Grand National Party" claimed that "there was neither victory nor defeat", the article noted, saying the ruling party has no elementary common sense in politics that any statesman would pretend to complain of pain when he is hit by the people.

The article censured the ruling GNP for downplaying the people's voice.
