Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- The Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK made public a statement on Oct. 26 over the answers General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave to questions put by ITAR-TASS of Russia.

The Russian people highly appreciate the answers of Kim Jong Il, the statement said, adding that they are a guideline for strengthening the Russia-DPRK friendship.

It went on to say:

As Kim Jong Il said, it entirely conforms to the interests of the two peoples to steadily develop in depth the history and tradition of the bilateral friendship and it is of weighty significance in safeguarding peace and stability in Northeast Asia.

Clarified in the answers are the comprehensive analysis into the situation of the Korean Peninsula and the cause of the aggravated situation in the region.

We have always supported the Korean people's efforts for building a prosperous and powerful country to which President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, devoted all his life.

Like other countries, Russia is actively conducing the work to significantly commemorate the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung.

We are sure that April next year will be an occasion of displaying the great victory of the DPRK's domestic and foreign policies and the international solidarity with the Korean people.
