Tudan Duck Farm Updated with Help of Kim Chaek Univ.

Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- Researchers group of Kim Chaek University of Technology has made a great contribution to technically updating the Tudan Duck Farm.

Teachers and researchers of the university played big roles in automating and computerizing all the processes of the farm in a brief span of time.

A fermented feed production process came on-line, paying off profusely.

A process of producing methane gas from the excrement of the ducks was established and the groundwork for producing organic compound fertilizer was laid.

The ducks' pens have been rigged with the cooling and heating devices by the use of geothermal energy. A disinfection system by the use of ozone was also set up.

The researchers also computerized the production and management by Korean-style operational system.

They updated the existing equipment with the help of modern technology and settled the scientific and technological problems in the production, thus making it possible to keep the production going at a high rate.

They raised the incubation rate by modernizing the hatching room and renovated the production process of compound feed to ensure the exact and automatic calculation of the amount and quality of the feed to be mixed.

They also introduced the infrared ray sensors in processing meat and an unmanned feeding and cleaning system in one pen.
